a friend who runs a temp agency just bought 10 of the Acer Travelmate tablet PC for his field reps, and says they all love them. Small/ Fast Enough for recording it seems..
just wondering if anyone has any personal feedback/stories...
these are some of the ones I found on ebay that look semi promising.....

frankly i think you can get a fuller-featured notebook for that price, i'd look for a bigger drive, more FW ports.. built-in WirelessG , etc... but if a tablet PC is what you're after - then it looks pretty nice.
a tablet might be really cool for taping purposes - i know chris rabold uses one to calibrate WSP's FOH system...
i've never been a big fan of acer, though..... lots of cut corners in their products from my experience..

I know gabe over at penny-arcade.com got one of these right when they came out. He said he was very happy w/ it. I know he doesn't use it for taping but rather for sketching his online comics. You might hit him up w/ a quick e-mail. although it's just a slow laptop w/ a gee whiz function i doubt you will see any benift if this is for taping.
