High gang. I usually don't do anything with my tapes other than track and normalize and use the pencil tool in Soundforge 8.
I'd like to get some feedback on whether or not to edit this show or not. To me, I think it sounds great for the most part but
wondering if I should tone down the Drums??? Are they too IN YOUR FACE???. However on headphones it sounds more balanced. I ran hot just to warn ya!!
I have SF 8 and Wavelab.
Let me know peepz :D

Also wanted to add that this was how it sounded @ The Stone Church that night.
Gear was AKG ck1~> a60m(adapter ring)~> c460b~> Silvers~> Busman PMD660 (16/44.1)
I was clamped to the legendary I-beam about 15' from the stage. Here is a pic of that I Beam relative to the stage.
I may just seed it as is.

Great pic. The tapes have got the best seats in the house...

I pulled just Luckiest Man so if the others are different, sorry;
Two choices (no particular order):
- Run an 10db limiter and call it good
- Knock about 10db of compression on the top in a graduated curve (say 1:4 for loudest-3db, 1:2 for 3-7db and 1:1.25 for 7-10db, in that order
- Do a combo; limit the first 5db, then run 1:2 compression on the (now top) 2db and a 1:1.5 compression on the next 3db.
Either one will essentially shave off the top impact to start to try and bury the drum in the mix. Thats an exaggeration, but it's the general effect. You can always try it, sleep on it, and then listen to the results again the next day and see what you think. There is some room for improvement, but it can stand on it's own without it. Nice pull. :coolguy:
