I bought 2 sets of PowerX batteries(AA 2200mAH) from Thomas Dist a while. I had one battery that went bad a few months ago. They sent me a replacement for it. Go to charge a set up last night and I have another dead one. Swapped them around to isolate the bad one. Has anyone else experienced this? Could I be frying them somehow?

After a couple years of regular use (in both taping and home gear - remotes, wireless game controllers, etc.) I've had 2 Powerex AAs go bad out of about 24 or so. I just wrote 'em off, but maybe I should drop TD a line to see if they'll send me replacements. Hmmmmm...
I know I'm not much help, but wanted to share a similar experience. Rechargables aren't perfect, and I've gotten far more dead or near-dying brand-spanking new alkalines in my time than rechargables, so I don't sweat much the occasional dead cell.

Moke, I've been doing the same cycling lately and it seems to help them stay fresh.
FWIW, my bad cells were b-a-d, as in no voltage whatsoever and absolutely no response on the charger in either the discharge or charge cycles.

Run it through the deep cycle discharge and recharge mode.
Problem being, I can't. The charger is do 2 sets of 2 batteries each. Normally when you put the batteries in the light will go red....hit discharge and it will flash yellow. When I have this dead cell in either slot the light will not come on at all.

Deep - cycle charging may not be needed with the right charger.
I'm trying to find the whitepapers, was on an old Hard Drive.........
