I understand that a dB attenuator reduces the signal coming in to a preamp but, is -30dB pad too much.
Maybe I am not understanding this but, I wanted to know if this cable is not the right cable/s to use.

That's too much $$ and you might not need attenuation all the time. 30db is also a lot. Get the 12s from Jon, they'll do you right in most situations, and you can use them with your existing cables.

no dB pad, striaght lines mic > pre.
a little pricey but, they look worth it.
Thanks for the input. I thought that the 30dB pad was not supposed to be there either. Just wanted to make sure.

These are killer. I ran these back in the day when I ran v3>analog out>modsbm1 8) Always did the trick for me!
