Title: How to fix damaged/broken cable on microphone-UK solution
Post by: mrblister on April 21, 2014, 05:16:44 AM
Hi,

Not sure whether this query should be in here or the mic stream.

My microphones Church Audio CA11 have developed a fault on one cable.  A fold in the cable has caused some sort of imternal damage so that when recording i get sporadic bursts of noise/interference when the cable moves slightly.  I think i need to have the mics rewired.  This has happened a couple of years back and i returned the mics to Canada for the job..

Is there someone in the UK (either professional, retailer, or someone on this board) who can do this job for me - saving me postage and time delay if i sent the mic to Canada?

Cheers

Not sure where you are in the UK, but there's a guy in Glasgow who I've used in the past. I can dig out his details if you're interested.

Have a friend that broke a cable on his microphones, he needed s quick fix so he went to one of those shops near Tottenham Court road tube station in London. The changed the broken cable and miniplug in 1 hour or so.
