Title: switch box bwtween pre/HT and amp?

Looks like I jumped the gun on purchasing amp that will only allow RCA or XLR input at once, no way on amp to switch inputs. so I want to run my old HT system via rca and new two channel pre via XLR for listening to music vs tv. I guess I need some kinda switch box that will only send one signal (r/l) not send both both at the same time? Can't find anything on line although I am sure something must exist, obviously a box that wont degrade the quality of signal as well.
