Title: UA-5 With a MAC
Post by: bayouav on May 07, 2004, 11:53:19 AM
Anyone have any experience running a mac laptop with Edirol's UA-5 interface. I've got multiple software packages, but would love to hear from anyone who has run this pre/ad. I've got MBHO 603a 's on the front end of the rig.

good to know...thanks

i was going to install the drivers on my g4 466 dt.

edirol says usb must be native to the computer...i have a beige g3 300 with an adaptec usb pci card. i'm gonna try and see if the ua-5 will work with that too.

yeah...i read about it a while back...i have pwoerbook envy.

just wish my employer gave out powerbooks instead of this dell d600...but you play the cards you are dealt.

i still do my transfers on my macs, but i am looking to do some field recording with the dell.

The driver is issue is a PC thing. The chipset has to be one supported by the UA5. Since mac uses the same chipsets for all of the machines they will work fine. I have not treid yet with a UA5 but the UA-1D worked right off.

What's a MAC?  Is that one of those addresses all network cards have? ;D
