Don't know about this one.  My whole reasoning for a HD recorder is to get rid of using my laptop.  My take on the CS product is that it has to interface with either a laptop or a PDA.  I'll wait to see what Sound Devices comes up with.

Looks to me like they have come up with yet another spdif interface, but no recorder.

yuo have to buy a pda or laptop for the recorder...

dont make no sense to me
