Title: Martin Logan speakers
Post by: JAH on October 06, 2004, 08:33:34 AM
I'm in Chicago this week and went to Tweeters and demo'ed their top of line speakers..a $6K pair of ML's (don't remember the name and a lot of names were being tossed out).  I threw on my ABB from Nissan the other night, shut the demo room door and added volume....NICE! too bad I don't have $6k ....actually good thing I don't ;-). they were run w/ some B&K seperates...nice off axis image and cool electro static design....at first I thought they were ribbon speakers...how does the electro static thing work?  Really smooth sounding....those w/ a sub and some smaller ones for the rear channel really made the next room w/ Finding Nemo playing rumble and sing!  Man, I need a job working Tweeters just for the discount!
ah......oh well back to work.

cheers

Most pricey too....what would you recommend, new or old, for a good PA recorded playback system? At a reasonable price too  :D

Haven't seen/heard those yet, ...Tweeter's other brand they were pushing was the Polk Line.

the neat's are not very widely distributed, but the are made for loud bass heavy music , and commonly listed as a top pick for rock music in the audiophile realm.

Look at the maunfacturer's write ups on their own products. Many will list that their equipment is not recomended for rock music.

the original VR4  ULTIMATE rock box.  and i'm not just saying that because thats what I run.  I say it after running several VR models, and many others.  they just rock like a...well, like a hurricane!
