Anybody know how this sounds?

That would be  a 39x with a ck 98.

Sounds like your typical shotgun mic recording...pretty good if you are in the lawn or in the back of an arena/stadium recording.    I have made a few tapes with the  398 and it will lack the thump of an FOB recording that is for sure.    A decent starter mic....if you run it from a distance.
