Title: Harmon Kardon Citation 5 Tube Amp... Anybody Familiar?
Post by: baustin on February 04, 2006, 07:18:56 PM
Anybody familiar with this piece of equipment?

I went by a local pawn shop today and there was one in there. Looks like it may need some new tubes, but what do I know...

Just wondering if I should jump on it. I think it was right at about $500.

Oh yeah... There was also an Adcom GFA-5500 in there...

Should this be in Playback Forum ?

$500 sounds high to me from a pr@wn shop
Expect to rework it to make it sound righteous (and I don't mean just new tubes and sound dampening)

Isn't it the Citation II that gets all the fluff?

Contact Jim McShane to ask about the Cit V.  There is also tons of info on AudioAsylum.  Yes, the Cit II is the one that gets the most attention, but I gather the V is pretty good sounding, too.
