Can anyone recommend cheap, reliable and efficient external battery packs for Fostex FR2 - inc. brands and types of internal re-chargeable batteries ?
Had a quote for £499 from a Brit company !!!!!! ( was good stuff though ).

I think I paid around 200 US dollars ( about a year ago) for an eco-charge EC-90 battery, power cable, and AC adapter (this unit has a built in smart charger). This powers the device for at least 4 hours or more. I've never gone past four hours.

Maybe not cheap, but likely the longest running is use of 8 alkaline D cell pack that connects with dummy AA cells to the battery compartment of the deck. www.sonicstudios.com/batsys98.htm#bd8 (http://www.sonicstudios.com/batsys98.htm#bd8)

The Sonic Studios sled has been recommended to me, and is probably the way I will go - not sure about the alkaline batts, as its not enviro friendly ! However, they do apparently last much longer in the machine. Might get away with two lots of batts 2 hours each and then I can use rechargeables ?
If anyone uses a lead batt for this jobbie please let me know.

Have now got FR2 and two power runner batts. Problem is I can't find a two pin DC adaptor plug that will fit the Fostex ANYWHERE. It seems to have a thin male pin inside the normal jack - is the US one the same ?
Does anyone have a part number for the Fostex FR2 Dc two pin adaptor jack ( not the PSU) ? I could then try Tekkeon that make the MP3300.
I have tried Maplins here in UK and no joy.
