damn!!! :o
I am consistently amazed at the small rooms that people will put their enormous speakers in. That VR-11 looks more suited for an auditorium-sized space. :P
-
that is a mighty small room for those things...
waf = -10 (and possible divorce, esp. when she sees the pricetag)
-
I'm sure they sound great and all bu they just look idiotic.

They aren't as idiotic looking as Acapella Speakers, and they cost less than half as much ($325,000)

I love how they look.

agree...and from the seller's listening distance of like 3.5 feet (see first pic), it would be hard not to. :P

You could buy these brand new for $100K now...as long as you donate your old walkman to the Goodwill!

yeah, I can't imagine that those were designed for nearfield listening. Some people have too much money on their hands!

and/or no common sense.

I know....., the opening statement of "I was looking for the best in the world, price no object", and then coming up w/that stupid room to put them in.
if I could "cyber puke"...it would stink in this thread.
Id rather have the vr7s or 9s myself.
and I love those big ass horns, though i like avante garde's design and look a little better.
Still, I wish I had that much money and time. First thing on the list would be the design and construction of a room that would be *perfect* for such gear.

now thats my idea of price no object, doing things right.

-
Wow, that tonearm is a work of art.

"an immensely stiff beam section with the high-tensile members at the outermost region of the composite, separated by a virtually inert core with extremely high compressive strength."
*sarcastic applause*
