Anyone want to transfer some VHS to DVD for me?
« on: March 09, 2008, 06:53:34 PM »
Or is there like a chain store type service that may do a transfer? In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Chicago Bulls last championship, I'd like a few games that I taped to be transferred to DVD. I have Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Championship game versus the Pacers and the complete 1998 Finals (6 games) versus the Utah Jazz. Nothing fancy in the transfer, just a good quality transfer. I'd even consider dual layer discs if that would render a better quality DVD. I'd rather keep each game to one disc but if not then two. I'll supply the blanks and all shipping costs plus transfer fees, of course.

Anyone?

i don't have tyime right now to do it for you
but
you would def need DL discs to keep it at 1 disc per game, even that might be pushing it without compressing it some

around here there are places that will do it for you but it costs a ton imo
for how many you have you would be better off buying a stand alone and doing it yourself that way (thats what they use here)

I could do it.  I don't have a TBC so the video would be as-is.

Thanks for the offer, what is TBC? Let me check out Wally-world and see some close to home options, but I'll get back with you in a few days.

+T's.

Time Base Corrector.  It helps filter the video as it's transferred to reduce jitter and improve the quality a bit if you use it correctly.  If the video is not extremely old and degraded it should be fine though.

Just like live music collectors who trade shows, there is a whole other world out there of those who trade sports broadcasts.  I'll bet these games are already readily available if you look in the right place.
