am I mistaken or wasn't there somebody who used to make cables that would allow you to connect standard RC car battery connectors to a 4 pin connector that goes into a 722?

I have all the parts. I just don't know how or if this works. Anybody have any ideas?

Most people that I know of use the 7.2v rc batteries into a dummy battery.  The 4 pin connector requires 10-18v.  Also I've read that the 4 pin connector is difficult to work with due to its size.

All of that aside, I got my cables made by ed at kindkables.  I got the the rc batts with the tamiya connectors then had ed redo the connector on the end of the dummy batts to match.  He did a really excellent job.  Also I had him wire the the dummys for two batts in parallel, that way I can theoretically get 9 hrs. off of two 4500mah packs (I never timed them out at festivals this summer so I'm not sure exactly how long they lasted but it was a very long time.)  it also allows me to hot swap packs.

Edit for pics.  Pic 1 is of the dummy batts attached to the decks, pic 2 is the connectors on the end of the dummy batt, pic 3 is of the battery packs (mmmmm, festival power!!)

I got mine off of ebay.  If you look around you can find some deals.  I got both of mine for $35 shipped I think, which was a very good price.  Also, you may want to throw an iso in the ys, they pop up once in a while.

aberg has one FS Jay ;)

Why dont you do them like mine? You can almost ALWAYS borrow mine Jay ;)

I am using 3000mah NIMH batts, theyre kind of outdated tho. AS OSOON AS I can afford newer 4500mah NIMH batts, Im getting a bunch of them. Instead of running 3x3000mah batts, I can run 2x4500mah batts to achieve the same runtimes. Or I can run 3x4500mah batts since Leegeddy made me some DOPEASS HEAVY DUTY 3xtaimay connectors>3-amp fuse>4-pin XLR, because I MUCH PREFER the durability and locking connector of a 4-pin neutrik XLR ;) Those rc connectrs can be finicky at times, thats why I have mine positioned JUST RIGHT in my Cairn II so it can even get kicked around w/ out osing power. It seems like EVERYTIME I try to how swap I lose power AND the recording :P So I just time my batts just right and switch them out in NO TIME ;)

Jay, as always, if you need ANY HELP, just ask ;)
