config/placement at Electric Factory?
« on: December 29, 2003, 09:43:07 AM »
for those familiar with the Electric Factory what config would you run from the taper section?
its been a couple of years since I personally ran mics there and I didnt make a note of what config I used...with 391's, I *think* I used ortf from the front center corner.

gonna be running TL's and I'm leaning towards running the cards nutter style

If the section is still near the stairs, I went with DIN with SR77s. ORTF got too much "room" for my liking.
Out of the game … for now?

i always run din at the electric factory, and i use akg 391's

in the tapers section...which is simply marked off with tape to the left of the sbd...there is in the front right corner an "X" on the floor

i find this is the best spot in the factory to setup a stand. always good results from the magic "X" in the tapers section

not sure who put the "X" there, but it never fails for me

i'll be at moe. , ..and maybe the biscuits

last year when the biscuits played NYE at the E Factory, the sbd was off to the left near the stairs.  the taperssection was directly to the right of that, a little inside of the right stack but nowhere near centered.  running that far back in that room, i would def run hypers.  kevin hughes ccm4v's picked up a lot more echo and room noise than nick's 483's which he ran DIN.  hope that helps, i'll be at clifton park and nyc, wish i had some hypers for the hammerstein.

pretty sure the section has moved from the side to the center, which is alot better.  i tried to tape randolph there a week back or so ( didn't happen though) and it looked like it was back to the old section, center.  good luck.
