I just had an 80GB SATA drive go toast on me. It spins up fine and I can see it when plugged in as a USB, so I suspect the FAT or MBR is toasted and am hoping I can save some of the files using a linux tool. Anyone know of a good, and preferably free, tool for this? Nothing especially vital on the disk, but I would like to have the most recent settings of my mail server and mailboxes if I could. Backups from a few weeks ago are running on another box so I can survive until I replace the drive and load an OS.
