Pcm-m10 transfer to cd slowed down?
« on: December 17, 2010, 08:57:58 PM »
Just finished transferring my first show from my sony pcm-m10 to a CD and noticed a four minute time difference between the recordings. The original recording was 24 bit 48 Khz, transferred to 16 bit 44Khz using the sound forge program, tracked with the cd wave program and burned with the easy cd creator. Any idea what caused this? I did an earlier transfer to mp3 to listen to on my phone without a problem. I'm sure it's something dumb I might have done but it's got me baffled.

it sounds like you didn't really re-sample the 48 kHz data to 44.1 kHz.  You just changed the sample rate in the header, so it's playing back at he wrong sample rate.  You need to go back to the original 48 kHz files, and actual resample the data to 44.1 kHz.

That worked, many thanks. Sorry, still trying to figure all this out.
