understanding power supply issues
« on: October 25, 2012, 03:28:12 AM »
Hi All

I now have 3 preamps that require the wallwart power supply. I have a Warm WA12, a Lake People C360 and a Joemeek MQ3.

I was hoping to plug them all into here:

http://www.zenproaudio.com/goldenagepsac-4.aspx

The owner of Warm says this unit is fine. But the owner of Lake People told me this:

"The Golden-Age power supply might cause problems because only AC voltage is distributed.
It is not because of the AC, C360 will regulate it - but fractions of the AC current may remain on the ground and the case and so may cause problems with connected gear."

Is this something that is not an issue for the Warm but is for the Lake People or is his point true for both preamps but he is being super vigilant in ensuring the sound is not compromised, whereas the owner of Warm is not being so vigilant?
