I just want to get 1 battery pack that will power both my Tascam DR-2d and a Sound Devices mix pre(old school or te "D" model) at the same time and cables to do it.

Tadakis has the right idea I think.

Pretty easy task as long as your recorder accepts an external 5V DC supply.  Bear in mind that some recorder manufacturers don't officially endorse the practice voiding any warranty if you cause damage to your recorder in the process.

It has the 5vlt USB out but, I need to know if a custom cable can be made to go from the USB port on this battery to the 5vlt input on the Tascam DR-2d.
