Topic: Minime Help

I tried searching with no luck....................

At Ratdog adventuregeorge was running his minime into a laptop/soundforge 7.0.   With the gain ALL THE WAY DOWN on the minime he was still running really hot all night.  We tried adjusting the cal pots but they disn't do anything (?).  I was baffled.  I don't know a thing about the minime so I was hoping someone could tell me (and him) what the problem is?

Any ideas?

there are internal jumpers "hi gain" and "low gain"... he'll have to open it up and change the jumpers. It is very easy to do and there are pictures/instructions around, perhaps even in the manual.

cal pots only affect the gain when running "line in" not "mic in"

that shoudl fix it!

Thanks again Tim......I just looked at the user guide and there are photos/instructions on how to do it  BUT.....do you just swap the outside pair for the inside pair??  It isn't very clear....to me anyway.

Just move them both to the next two jumpers down if i remember correctly.  I had the same problem when i first got my mme

on a side note, is that not the cheapest looking casing ever once you take it apart?  i swear it looks like it was spray painted

I have a MiniMe and had exactly the same problem but only after I replaced my AKG300's (which apparently were not that sensitive) with AKG480's (which are more sensitive), I ran the 300's with the MiniMe as it came from the factory with no pboblems, then the first time I ran my new 480's with the MiniMe the levels were way too high and I was getting constant digital overs and the trimpots did not work, I modified the unit per the manual and now the combo works great, I guess we get the manual for a reason, school of hard knocks I suppose, Grider

Congrats on getting it working..
On another note, how do apogee handle their warranties if they're putting jumpers inside the case with instructions in the manual on how to frig with them... i gather opening the case doesn't void it?

I don't think I've ever heard anyone ask this before... I'd guess it doesn't matter but we are talking about Apogee.
