Topic: Church Audio CA-14 Voltage

does anyone know what the max voltage is for ca14's? the reason is i just bought a littlebox with an 1/8 input and dont want to watch the mics explode, melt, and light on fire so if anyone knows if it can take the 20v the littlebox would put out, please share.

well just a guess of course as I know little to nothing on the topic, but I would think 20v is a bit too much for smaller mics like the Church mics and SP mics and the like. Especially when the run off a 9v battery.

Hopefully others with more knowledge will chime in

littlebox does not supply 20V to the minijack input, only 9V (unless you have one of the very earliest models, which is 10V on low and 16V on high).

20 volts surprised me a lot 10 makes more sense. Select the lower setting, I don't think there's any problem by supplying 10 volts instead of their recommended 9... Although Chris himself will probably chime in and state the truth

9 volts is ok 12 volts is ok but that is the max.
