my playback setup is finally complete!
« on: April 29, 2004, 11:57:37 PM »
my amp showed up today so my system is finally complete for the time being, i'd like to add a power conditioner and some new interconnects and power cords but all the main pieces are in place.  i'll try to find the digicam tomorrow and snap some pics but here's the setup:

computer > emagic emi  / tascam da-20 mkii / pioneer dv-563a > bel canto dac 1.1 > ys symphonies preamp > bk st-140 > magnepan mmgs

i'd just like to say thanks to the many folks who have posted reviews of their gear and answered my questions along the way, they were extremely helpful in putting everything together.  i can't wait to sit down and relisten to my tapes and give them a more critical listen.

that B&K amp sounds great with the maggies, and I always wanted to put a tube pre in front of 'em.  Sounds like the best of both worlds!  +T

i ran an ST-140>MMG setup as my firsr wander into high-end terratory, and thought it was awesome.
In fact, it was the benchmark sound i've been chasing since then, and have finaly  caught back up to now.

congrats Nick!
I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia
