Normally you would only do that if the battery won't charge.  I have been able to bring a few batteries back to life by leaving em desulphating for a few weeks.  The normal charge cycle for the battery minder will take care of desulphating when it goes into pulse mode at the end...

+T mike, thanks for the quick response

so what youre saying is, i dont need to de-sulphate since it does it in its normal mode anyway??? soundz fine to me ;)

so if a battery is DEAD< just hit that button while plugged in and it will cycle it back to life?? very cool concept, hopefully i never have a battery that bad off ;)

Yeah that is the idea, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't... I have bout $600 in golf cart batteries that I was able to extend the life of so the cost of the charger was nothing compared to the cost of the batts...

yo Bean....

all of my batteryminders were always 6v, though i'm sure there isn't much difference in performance and behavior.
if its blinking, its in "float mode", and means that your battery is fully charged and ready to rock and roll.
if it on solid, it is charging.
:)
hope that helps

Ok, this is the only NON intuitive thing about the battery minder

Steps to charge

1 UNPLUG the charger
2 hook up the battery
3 look for battery condition (light should be green)
4 plug it in the wall

Should go solid right away

might wanna post something in the archive...

First step, disconnect EVERYTHING

then plug the battery into the charger

THEN plug into wall

Otherwise it will be in pulse charge mode...
