newbie: Quick gate & gear question
« on: July 31, 2004, 12:10:55 AM »
Hey, I'm new to the board (as you can tell this is my first post). Just have two quick questions. I havn't bought any taping gear as i'm just reading about the different types, but I plan on buying the Nomad JB3 for taping. My first question is that, at the local venue around here (Meadows Music Theatre in Hartford, CT), they tend to check backs rather than wand you down. Any swift excuses I would be able to use to get through security or good places to hide it? Also, would the Nomad JB3 along with mic be the only two things I would need to tape? Or is there other equipment?

Thanks a lot to anyone who is able to help out!

are you wanting to do open taping or stealth?

if it is stealth crotch it and wear lots of metal - belt buckle, coins, phone(s), etc

Stealth most likely. Yea, i've thought about crotching it. Thanks for the help.
