Q: two soundcards running simultaneously?
« on: October 11, 2004, 01:43:18 PM »
Gentlemen,

I'd like to generate a test signal, send it to a digital signal out, convert it to analog, manipulate it externally, convert it back to digital and import the data back into the computer. All in real time.

Currently the "test stand" system uses a single dio 2496 under W2k. Before I go ahead with  adding another card I figured I'd ask the experts.

On paper this seems doable but does anyone have some insight into possible pitfalls?

Thanks
Jon

you may need to assign the irq's manually as they might interfere with eachother, just something to take note of.

I have had trouble w/ two identical cards but if they are two different cards you should not have driver/resource issues.  Any self respecting audio application should have the ability to select input and outpot cards/ports separately(i know i can w/ SF and audacity).
