VX Pocket with Desktop via (??)>PCMCIA adapter?
« on: November 17, 2004, 11:48:14 AM »
Hey all,

Just picked up a VX pocket 440, I was wondering if any of you have used a VX pocket (either V2 or 440) with a desktop computer for playback and/or recording. I am mainly interested in the playback aspect, as I would like to use my desktop as a jukebox but have had a nasty ground loop problem when playing back from the unbalanced outs of my Audiophile 2496 to my receiver.

I was thinking there must be some sort of adapter that will allow me to hook up the VX pocket to my desktop, perhaps a USB>PCMCIA adapter? Wondering about the functionality of the VX when connected through an adapter device like this. Anyone tried it?

Thanks in advance,
Ben

Never used one personally, but thought about getting one of these myself...

You could try lifting the ground on either the puter or reciever w/ a 3prong>two prong adapter, although that may present different probs(safety etc).

FYI: Here is the response I got from Digigram

Dear Sir,

Because this type of setup requires third-party equipment and software
that
we are not able to control, this is not a setup that is supported by
Digigram.

Bump, just wondering if anyone has tried this.     ???

If it works I can ditch my Audiophile 2496...    :)
