Help for tonight, bass content
« on: December 31, 2004, 11:26:46 AM »
So I ran TLs(DIN, cards)>V2>MME for NMAS.  The recording is dark.  The bass at the show was knockin beer bottles off tables.  It was so low I couldn't even distinguish notes.  It was just this low in your chest thump.  So I get home to listen to the recording and it is very dark.  The bass is everywhere, but you can hear the individual notes.  So I don't think its boomy.  Just dark.  How should I brighten this up tonight?  ITs the same club, I'll be somewhere around the same place.  XY?  or run the HPF on the V2?  Is this the mme darkening my signal up?  Should I run my MBHOs?  Thanks guys.

I'm not the expert on mic configs, but you could always do some post-production work and cut the bass in a sound editing program.

let me throw another option out there...disengage spc on my mme.  I hadn't run or tested this setting, but I just tried it.  Maybe it wasn't the best idea.

I have no idea what the above means, but congrats on pulling a good tape! I only discovered the band in 2004, and haven't seen them since taping them in May. Maybe I should circulate that at some point, its a (tiny) bit better than the source already out there. I believe they have a new album out soon, hope they come back to the UK to promote it.

What were the shows like? Still sounding good as a threesome?
