stereo SACD recommendations
« on: January 29, 2005, 05:56:47 PM »
seeing as how the format is effectively dead from what i understand, now is the time to mine ebay and find as many titles as possible, as they will be collector's items sooner than later...

to date my favorite, the most striking, would be "Beggars' Banquet" by the Rolling Stones

what titles do you suggest..?

thanks, in advance, for any (and all) input on the subject...

Did SACD go under ?

Happy, happy day !

There's a few great titles out there, Sony bought up a lot of music.
Then, restricted release to their proprietary format.       :P

i have been told that this is the case - they are shifting to other formats...

of course for us consumers, the format will be around for a while, but i am VERY distressed at the news...

i am impressed with sacd, and at this point, want to collect as much source material as i can. i plan on using my sacd player for a long time to come...

mark;

i've ordered from http://www.amusicdirect.com/ in the past and they always have a great selection of sacd/dvd-a.

my favs:

steely dan's gaucho
roxy music's avalon
diana krall: the look of love, the girl in the other room
ravel: bolero/dauphne et cloe
pf: DSoTM (of course)
the police: sync., ghost in the machine (invisible sun is AWESOME), zenyatta mondatta
norah!!
rebecca pidgeon (what an amazing voice she has)
vivaldi's four seasons

and i've heard that elton john's series are fabulous as well.
