Wavelab Matrix Help
« on: February 28, 2005, 01:52:07 PM »
Hey all. I need some help with the basics of putting a matrix together with Wavelab 5.0. I'm pretty good with computers and learn quick, so if someone can just get me started I should be able to take it from their.

I believe the first order of business is getting the ASIO drivers to work. Very difficult, if not impossible, to do with a windows OS. I do not know about Macs.
Line Audio CM4 / AT853Rx (c,h,o) / Studio Projects C4 MKII (c,h,o)
Sound Devices MP-2 / bm2p+ Edirol UA-5
Zoom F3 / F6 / Marantz Oade Warm Mod PMD661 / Tascam DR-70D

To record or to make a matrix in post? If the later no need for the ASIO drivers. Use the Audio Montage. There is a ton of info for doing this and all has been discussed before. Use the search function would be your best bet.

One problem with using montage is I've not been able to combine (save) more then one stereo track in montage.  Yeah I'm able to align and listen to the montage with more then one stereo track; but I don't know how to make, as cool edit pro has, a mixdown track where all tracks are saved as one WAV.  I've read several posts about Wavelab/montage but all I've read is how to create a montage and align tracks etc.  There is nothing on how to get it to one WAV file.  I'm tired of using Cool Edit Pro and not having true 24bit support.  It wants to resample 24bit files up to 32bit float, but then it wants to resample back to 16bit on a mixdown.  It would be great if anyone could please guide me through the process with Wavelab.

You have to render the 4 tracks down to 2 via the 'render' button if I remember correctly without looking at it.

Hmm, I could swear I've attempted to do that, but I'll give it a try again....  :P

Thanks for the quick reply!
