Anybody ever seen such an animal as a digi-coax > USB cable?

No such beast exists, as far as I know, nor do I think it's possible (but don't ask for technical reasons...I dunno!).  USB soundcard is the closest you'll get, I believe.

What (bigger picture) are you trying to accomplish, exactly?

 I saw a digi coax > firewire a couple days back running AD2K+ > Laptop.  I asked the taper and he said a friend made the cable.  He loves the AD2K+ (for obvious reasons), but really wanted to do 24/96.  I don't have firewire on my laptop and my pre doesn't have USB out...BUT, if I could do coax > USB, I could run 24-bit w/ the laptop > DVD-Audio.
Socks are overrated.
