re-tracking a show ?
« on: August 12, 2005, 08:25:33 PM »
i have a lonnie mack show(88-03-30) on cdr that is tracked way off(5 sec into atleast one song) and would like to put it back together and get it atleast closer. it's also on 2 discs. is there a better/easier way than using shntool? i'm just lazy i guess?  or would it be better to leave it as it is?

You could use EAC, extract each disc as one whole track, then re-track with CD WAV.
Right now nothing...in the past: Schoeps CMC6, AKG 480, AKG 460, AKG 414, MBHO 603a, Neumann KM100, ADK TL>Schoeps MK4, Schoeps MK2, Schoeps MK41, AKG ck61, AKG ck62, AKG ck63, Neumann AK40, Neumann AK50, MBHO ka200>Lunatec V2, Lunatec V3, Apogee Mini-Me, Oade M148, Oade M248, Sound Devices MP2, Sonosax SXM2>Sony (mod)SBM1, Apogee AD500>D7, D8, D100, M1, R1, R4, R09, iRiver HP120, Microtrack

Choose "Save Image"...it'll turn the whole disc into 1 track.

i have alot of shows like this.  clearly these things were transfered on a standalone cd burner with a person running to hit that "mark" button and missing everytime!

i've tryed "ripping" discs w/ wavelab5 and ended up w/ all kinds of errors (?) running them through frontend.

maybe i had the settings wrong or should have just tryed "recording"?

i tryed this because i couldn't remember the settings for eac and all the links i could find to "the coaster factory" didn't work. got that squared away though. since i had to do the dae anyway, eac worked grate. if i was starting w/ wave files to begin w/, i'd definately try these other suggestions.

thanks all, round of +ts to ya
