another option -- roll your own.

Search newegg, etc. for a suitable hard drive enclosure

a bombproof but expensive one can be found at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817145160

and then add an internal ide hard drive

the following link shows how to pick up a 160gb western digital ide internal drive for $20 after rebates from best buy --

pretty darned easy and can save you a lot of $$$

I rolled my own and will daisy chain another matching set soon.  Newegg is the way to go imo

Very happy with this setup!

get an external enclosure, I've got a Belkin and it works flawlessly. I've used it to take the HD out of my family's computer and get the data off after windows crashed amongst other things, and it's great to be able to swap out drives for whatever reason. I also got one when I needed a DVD burner for my laptop, and it ended up being that the enclosure and internal drive was a cheaper combo than most external burners.
