SACD
« on: November 18, 2005, 07:49:55 PM »
I just bought and listened to Dark Side Of The Moon on SACD.  Damn it sounds good.  And it was only two channel.  The louder it got the better it sounded.  I can't imagine what it must sound like in the full 5.1 surround.  Can't wait to do it again a little louder without the wife at home.  This also really has me jonesin' for new speakers, but i must resist.

Probably sounds better in 2.0 than 5.1, IMHO
two ears, two speakers is my motto, all else is hype  <ducking, very fast>

I'm liking SACD, but can't say it's better than hi-res DVD-A, especially through a good DAC.

+T for DSOM in SACD !

I am a big fan of SACD personally. The DSOM was mixed very well, almost to an exagerated point but I like it.
I know you like, tape for people's approval and stuff, and wave your tapes around like they're your dick...  but even you can't actually think section tapes from philips sound good.

Yeah I'm going to have to order some DVD audio titles.  I was a t Borders and they didn't have much of a selection.  But I would love to hear some stuff.  Its funny, listening to DSOTM I heard things I've never heard before and I've been listening to those songs for years.  Now I definetely won't hesitate to replace all my Dylan and Dead cds with the SACD re-releases.  And thanks again to you guys for not talking me into buying  a surround setup.  I'm loving 2 channels with the Jolida.

The couple of SACD's I have heard of Dylan's back catalog are quite nice.

Great album.  This is what pisses me off about things like SACD and collectors edition dvds.  I already have the Headhunters album.  Now the inner geek in me is going to make me go and buy another copy.  Much like Clerks on dvd.  I bought it on dvd years ago for like $40 and now there's Clerks X.  Gotta buy that one too.  Effin' technology.

I've been listening to SACDs for a while now and to my ears you can’t beat it. I would suggest you pick up Jormas’ Blue Country Heart. Acoustic sounds seem to have to best collection from what I can tell. 461 Ocean Boulevard and Slowhand are good ones also.

"Headhunters" is a MUST have, if you don't have it you should get it. Either redbook or SACD.
