Help me: Vaio video card issues(may be fried)
« on: December 13, 2005, 02:47:09 PM »
What happend:
got an error about  an ati driver
computer automatically fliped into safe mode
rebooted
when comp got to winows load screen starts to load but monitor goes completely dead
then a blue screen comes up for a couple of seconds that says something about a phyisical memory and a device stuck in an infinite loop
will not load windows unless in safe mode or vga mode

What I've already done:

tried to load new set of drivers but everytime I reboot it says that drivers are not installed or may not be working properly
loaded with selective startup
loaded with all services shut down
loaded with ini box unchecked
restored to an earlier time

no difference with loading
still will not load correctly

disabled video card, computer loads but will not work in a resolution higher then  1024 x 768
I am going to try a full system restore after I get some stuff off my hard drive
If this does not work does anyone know if a vaio s 270p has a video card that is hard wired or could I open upthe shell and pull the chip and replace it with another?

most likely hardwired into the motherboard, revovery will probably fix your issue.  back up that data
