Wavelab Problems - Clicks/Pops After Processing
« on: June 29, 2006, 08:59:47 PM »
Just had a file corrupted - random overloads clicks/pops introduced after saving a file that I processed fade in/out.  I have never had this problem before.  The only thing that I did differently was that the file was playing while the save/processing operation was being carried out.  Please help as I have deleted the original file from the 722.

bet that's why.

try going to file > recent audio files and see if it's there.

or edit undo.

edit:

this advice would be if wavelab was stil open after doing this.  you may be fucked.

hmm. maybe back up the file before processing....and especially before deleting.  :P

any way to use hd recovery software to salvage the wav file from the 722? have you posted on the sound devices forum?

Is there a way to remove the clicks & pops? And hopefully not manually one by one :o

Doubtful.  I think your best bet is to try to recover the file from the 722.  Even though it's "deleted", if you haven't overwritten the section of the HD on which it was stored, you should still be able to get to it.  How, exactly, I don't know as I've not done it before.

Tried to recover deleted files with winundelete but was unsuccessful.  Any solution using the Wavelab software?  Figures this was the only really good recording from Jazz Fest this past weekend - Edmar Castaneda.

wavelab has a declicker and denoiser/depoper, highlight the wholefile and let her rip

im glad to try remove the pops and clicks for you too, I just bought Algorithmix RenOVator for Sequoia, and id love to use it. It is one of the best around for this sort of thing(and better be for the money I spent on it!), so if you dont like the wl results, id be glad to help out. Of course if they are every few seconds, it is probably a lost cause.

I tried that plugin but does not seem to be working (could be user error).  I rendered the file and just got pops and click and the actual music was gone.  Based on this I am sure that I am not using it correctly.  Anyone know what settings I should use?

I promised a lot of people this show.

Shit happens - they'll get over it and won't think any less of you for flubbing it (and if they do, well...screw 'em, they're not worth the effort, anyway).  Lesson learned:  always keep a backup to the file you're processing!

how about a small sample of the clicks and pop's.  I'll see what I can do with it.
