Anyone use an ESI Waveterminal U24?
« on: September 29, 2003, 10:31:05 AM »
Is anyone familiar with this USB soundcard?

I'm a transfering newbie and I've borrowed a ESI Waveterminal U24 from a friend to try it out.

When transferring from DAT to WAV, can I use the U24's real-time sample rate converter to go from 48>44.1? Or am I better off doing the resampling with a software program such as SoundForge?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm still feeling my way through all this :)

Actually, some research on Dat Heads has informed me that this card doesn't do bit perfect transfer, so please disregard my question.

I own the U2A, the precursor to the U24. It was tested by Jamie Lutch and confirmed as bit-perfect back then, but I'm not sure if he's done the U24...

Thanks for the info. I think I'll test it out myself and see if I can confirm whether it is or not.
