Yeah, I am not sure where you got your info, but my ua-5 as well as Becky's worked fine at all sr and frequencies!

you could try a digidsign m-box which is a pre-a/d, taped cincy phish this year and a guy running a ibook 17" was using one

I can't check with Panther because the MOTU driver for Mac OS X doesn't work in Panther. :-(

i'd check with panther but at the moment my firewire interface is not in my hands...

LOVING 10.3 so far though.  speedier, and expose is cool.

thanks for all the input guys. New question, what are and who does these "mods" to the UA-5? I've been using an UA-30 for a year now and only run into problems with Peak 3.0.

Bias released an updater to fix USB recording issues with Peak 3.

oade has a couple of mods which they do on the ua5.
