Please help if possible-Errors on dat tape
« on: March 08, 2007, 07:06:44 AM »
Hey now!
Here's something I never experienced before: I Taped Ratdog in Syracuse last Friday.Anyway,When I got home after the show,I listened to a few minutes of the show(Which I normally do to see how everything came out).I put in the 1st set 60 meter  dat tape in my home Sony Pcm-R300 Dat deck and it came out great.I put in the 2nd set 60 meter dat tape, and there were errors all over the tape.I put the 2nd tape in my Sony D8 which I used at the show, and likewise, errors all throughout in the tape.I then put the 2nd set dat tape in my other home dat deck-A Fostex, and played it and No errors/Digi-noise at all!!I have taped shows live with dat and have had very few tapes with errors. That's why I'm wondering why it has all of the errors in the 2 decks, but not in the fostex.Anyone who cares to respond to my dilemma is more than welcome. Thanks!

It might be that your D8 needs a service/clean.
I have a D7 which had problems playing and recording tapes. The answer was to get it properly serviced - with the heads cleaned and realigned.
