havnt heard many good things about the downsampling of cdwave, if you have soundforge, i would use that for downsample, as i here this program being thrown around the most for the best downsampling program and wavelab, i use sf6 and never had any problems, but if cdwave is all that you got, then go for it

I think CDWave just uses the built in Windows codec.  (like changing properties if you start sndrec32.exe) and it sounds really bad.

I tested cd wave out & it sounds like shit!! Digital noise big time.

I'm going to have to wait to transfer the 10-25 panic show. This may be the best tapes I've ever made. Sound great.

I can use Wavelab but i don't have enough space to save the 2nd set. Seems like wavelab is saving the file once I resample. Then wanting enough space to save it again perm. over 3.3  gigs to save it at 44.1

split the 48 file with cdwave then use wavelab batch processing to resample. i think it sounds better than soundforge. ymmv. but , it will work without reaching the file size limit if you do it batch style.

Just got done doing that Cooker. Worked great T+

Just for kicks I burnt the cd wave downsample. Winamp still says the file was 48.

I took the tracks off the disc & put it back on wavelab. It read it @ 44.1

The cd wave copy sounds like when you burn a wave file @ 48 & play it in a normal cd player.
