Audio Magic Product Support/Warrantee
« on: July 20, 2007, 03:13:52 PM »
One of my Excalibur II cables went during the Panic show at the Tower this week.  At first I thought it was the humidity...it was a sauna in that place.  After trouble shooting turns out the male xlr connector is falty (either wire or solder).

I am hoping that Audio Magic will fix it for free.  Anyone had any experience w/ Audio Magic and how they stand behind their products?

May just have to fix it myself, but would rather have it done by AM.

My experience with them has been good.  I had a repair done back in 1999 for free.  If they can't, or you don't wan the delay, I know a local guy who is a wiz with the solder gun.

I had a cable go bad once that was a Audio Magic Cable. They fixed it for free since all their cables have a lifetime warranty but it was a pain in the ass getting in touch with them. They never answer the phone so you have to leave a message.I left three messages before someone called me back.I actually have an interconnect cable that I need to have them fix and this thread reminded me of it.Its been sitting in my closet for over a year now.

Ditto.  My dealings with them have been superb, and they will likely fix your cable for free.

You pay to ship your cable out, they pay to ship it back. Hell you may even get a direct phone call from Jerry if you mention how the soldering looked kinda weak for the price you pay, heh, then proceed to get an involved explanation on how to much soldering affects the sound.  ;D

I had one start crapping out intermittently straight out of the box  >:(

I never contacted them about the problem (I guess for the price I paid I should have - ?) but I re-soldered the the XLR on one end and all was good.  Maybe too much solder makes for slightly poorer sound, but I would imagine it can't be as bad as the sound of a bitching customer...
