is shntool neccesary??
« on: October 27, 2007, 09:08:55 AM »
it seems that if im "aligning on sector boundaries" in the flac frontend; then the shntool output becomes redundant.  any thoughts?

Just track w/ cdwav and don't check that box in frontend. That's what I do.   But I do still run it through shntool for peace of mind.  Of course only for 16 bit.

Well, I have seen any number of shows where the seeder said he has used CD Wave, and there were still SBE's, so I ALWAYS run shntool (or at least the Trader's Little Helper version of it) on all downloaded files

agreed.  i have run cdwave and come up withe sbe's before.  strange stuff too.  not on the end or beginning, but sbe's in the middle of the wave file after tracking.  i think checking the box is neccesary for sure, but maybe i should explore traders little helper....

I have and no how to use shntool.  anyway just started using traders little helper to create ffp's etc.  as far as it's shntool capabilities all I can get it to do is fix sbe's.  how do you get it to give a shntool output?
