re-authoring dvd question
« on: February 10, 2004, 02:13:04 AM »
how hard is it to add a second angle to a dvd?

basically i'm currently in touch with a filmer who has 1 of 2 angles of a certain show.  i'd like to ideally make a 2 cam mix of the 2 angles.  i haven't asked the second person, but hte first person will not lend me the master.  the best i can do is a something in dvd format or mini-dv clone.  i'm thinking of 2 solutions.

a) person gives me 2 dvds of raw DV.  however, i'm not sure how easy it is to split into 2 vids and join them together later.

b)  he gives me a dvd video.  i later extract the video and mix it with the 2nd source.  i'm thinking this may be hard to do + possibilities of degrading of video in the frist source when you mix?

thoughts?
