Leave it off.  What it does, is when it gets to the 3 hr time limit, it automatically starts a new recording.  If left alone, it will keep going until the batteries die or the HD is full.  Because the JB3 will drop a slight few samples when starting a new file, you will want to have control over when you make a new file (by hitting the FF button).  You will have that option no matter what, but it will likely be rare that you will ever actually want to have the continuous recording option on.
