T-Bar or Shure Vert Bar?
« on: February 16, 2004, 02:46:43 PM »
Seems like when I first started taping, everybody I saw was using a Shure Vertical Bar. Now, a few years later, all I seem to see are T-Bars. Not that it makes any real difference, but who here uses what?

If you have both (as I do), which do you use more? Does it depend entirely on the config you plan on running?

I know a lot of folks who run DPAs and Schoeps use the fancy xy/ortf mounts, but what about the rest of us?

I'm running a vert bar with my AKG300s.  I like it better than a t-bar since it always me to set up in ANY config.

I forgot to add I primarily use the vert bar. It's easier to manage in that I can just leave it attached to the stand, one less thing to set up at a show.

what configs can you do with a vert bar that you can't with a t-bar?
I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia

be careful doing that.  had a friend do that and it snapped the thread off the top of his bogen when he was carrying it.
