Anybody know if the ACL Fest is open taping?

I saw several full rigs at various stages last year. I saw one guy at the Robert Earl Keen afternoon show get told to put his mic away (it was a totally lo-fi computer mic thingy).

I stealthed several acts last year, but did not have to hide my gear to get in. I plan on taking a stand this year.

Hope this helps.

Sweet!  I stealthed a couple last year, but plan on taking a full rig/stand this year.  I couldn't remember seeing any stands at the past two, but I think that was due to the high quantities of beer & sun.

Did you happen to get Spearhead's set? First time I'd heard them, wasn't expecting much so didn't tape. I was pretty impressed, though!

Can't wait for this year!

No, I opted out for someone else, but I can't remember who.  I got Los Lobos, Keller, Jack Johnson, Kaki King, Donavon Frankenreiter, and SCI.  What about you?

Robert Earl Keen - Afternoon set (Wind noise makes it unlistenable but I think I have a different source on the way.)
Steve Winwood
Los Lobos
Bright Eyes
Polyphonic Spree (I was too close so the vocals aren't up-front enough. I found a different (Earthworks) source.)
Soulive
South Austin Jug Band

This year I'm planning on:
OLD 97's!!!
My Morning Jacket
Los Lonely Boys
Big Head Todd
Mofro
MM&W
New Monsoon
Wilco
Elvis Costello
Toots & the Maytals
Sheryl Crow (maybe)
Trey (maybe)

Hopefully I won't have too many schedule conflicts!

Or how about someone totally out of the blue....Neil Young, Beck, Tom Petty!

Some Sunday night headliner to compete with Ben Harper.

If you're in Austin, you'll get your SCI fix in October!

I could go for a headliner to compete with Ben Harper.  He is getting to Lenny Kravitz for me.  I am not in Austin, but I will be for the SCI run in October  :)

Los Lonely Boys, Shery Crow, Los Lonely Boys, Sheryl Crow, Los Lonely Boys, Sheryl Crow......

LOS LONELY BOYS!

I'm sure someone else will come out on the other side of that dilemma, though.

I will more than likely grab the Sheryl Crow, much in part to my wife being a fan  ;)

I am not a huge LLB's fan to be honest, so the conflict doesn't hurt me much.  Saw them NYE last year at Austin City Music Hall opening for Robert Randolph.  I think I will stick with their studio album.  RR on the other hand is the man!
