I don't make the flacs in wav editor because wave editor cuts the tracks with sbes. so, I export the wav files, fix 'em in xact, then flac 'em.

^^^So how do you do this???
The [Export Selection] options are: MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC
The [Export] options add: Podcast, Properties, Labels, DDP, Cue Sheet, PQ Sheet

Why doesn't Wave Editor cut tracks on sector boundaries?  It burns Red Book Standard Audio CD's, which is not technically the same as CD-R's, is this why?  Seems like there should be a setting to cut on sector boundaries in Wave Editor but apparently not, does anyone know if Triumph 2.xx has this capability?  If not it would certainly be a good feature to request them to add since they look for user feedback and suggestions.

Until recently I had just assumed that since I was using CD Time Units in Wave Editor that it was cutting on sector boundaries.  I knew that xACT had a way to fix SBE's but didn't know you could check for them with xACT.

Well like I said until this update to 1.57
I always have selected all the labels and right clicked, and  > save selection to > select wav24 and WE would export all the tracks as individual wav's.
That's how I have done this for over 2 years now it's always worked before.

however now I can only do this as one track at a time as you noted...

I am thinking that maybe because the file is now 2.75GB it could be causing the issues, so I may try to cut some of the file and paste it into a new file and   try to copy the tracks (labels)

Thanx!

I'm running OSX 10.8.2

but like I've stated I am wondering if it's because of over the 2GB file size... been too busy with work and family to have time to slit the file into two and re-track.

thank you.
then are you able to export the labels, aka save selection to > wav's
without glitches
now that I have upgraded to the current version
when I tried this it seemed to export the entire show as each track

any suggestions?  Do you have a different work flow solution?
thanx

Thank you SCB!

That's exactly what I have always done - exactly
except now when I attempt this, I can  NOT choose save section to, as it is greyed out...

Maybe I'll run some tool programs  Onyx - Drive Genius and applejack and see if there is some kind of strange corruption... repair permissions etc hopefully that will fix whatever is causing the errors

Thank you...
no  not yet ~ I attempted to use the  automated support , however it seemed to simply freeze.
It seems I have had other issues with my computer... ran Onyx and drive genius
I amm hopeful that the permission issues can help fix my problems  and hope to know more tomorrow

I have finally emailed supportvia the suport ticket function in WE, after many unsuccessful attempts.
It finally went through.

I got a response back:

Quote
Open up the Labels Drawer (View > Labels), highlight your Labels, right-click, select Save Selection To.... Just tested, and it works just fine in 10.8.2 and 10.7.x.

Which is how I have always done this.... still doesn't work...

Would trashing the preference file help to restore normal functionality?

If so in OS 10.8.2, how in the heck do I find my pref's?

I have looked but for the life of me can seem to find them like I =used to in 10.6 and every OS since 7.

thanx

Ian you indicated having other issues with you iMac, does it fall within this category by any chance?  My drive failed in July before Apple issued the program but it was covered under my apple care protection.  Before it completely failed there were some unexplained issues.

Dear iMac owner,

Apple has determined that certain 1TB Seagate hard drives used in 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac systems may fail. These systems were sold between October 2009 and July 2011.

Our records show that you have an iMac with an affected 1TB Seagate hard drive. Apple will replace your hard drive with a new one, free of charge, under the iMac 1TB Seagate Hard Drive Replacement Program.

Please choose one of the following options to get a replacement hard drive.

•Apple Retail Store - Set up an appointment with a Genius.

•Apple Authorized Service Provider.

•Apple Technical Support - Contact us for local service options.

Apple recommends replacing your affected hard drive as soon as possible. Before you go in for service, please back up your data. Learn more about backup options.

Additional Information

You will need to have the original Mac OS installation discs that were shipped with your iMac in order to reinstall your operating system, other applications, and any backed up data after your hard drive is replaced.

This worldwide Apple program does not extend the standard warranty coverage of the iMac.

Apple will replace affected 1TB Seagate hard drives, free of charge, for three years from your iMac's original date of purchase or until April 12, 2013, whichever provides longer coverage for you.. Apple will continue to evaluate service data and provide extensions to this program as needed.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Apple Inc.

If so in OS 10.8.2, how in the heck do I find my pref's?

in Finder, in the "Go" menu,

Go To Folder...

~/Library/Preferences

com.audiofile.WaveEditor.plist

Ahhhh that worked...

I do monitor my drive with Drive Genius and drive pulse.
I have recently  rebuilt directories, fixed the preferences, etc, including defragged the drive.  It is only a 500gb and not a 1TB, but is a 2012 iMac 21".

I was able to confirm that with  another WE file , I was able to select all labels and right click, save selection to:

the file is 3.02GB and they had waned me to use their Dropbox folder to see if they could help, however it is over the 2GB file size transfer limit.

Awaiting a reply.

thank you

SOLVED!!!!

got this:

Quote
Do any of these labels exist on the master layer? If so, try transferring them to layers containing audio. Are they all listed in sequential order?
Did trashing preferences help?
The Triumph Converter should import fades and labels.

My reply was:

Bingo, I believe that I have created most of these labels on the master layer. I used the copy to layer... Layer1 and then it  seemed to work just fine !

I did not end up trashing my pref file... the copying the labels onto layer 1 seemed to do the trick!

Wow this was  boggling my mind for a over a month now,  thank you again.

Sometimes a simple thing  can make you feel like a complete idiot...
glad I was now finally able to save my Wilco 2012-09-25 as wave24, now on to flacin'g and metatagging...
