Topic: Painting cables

Probably I'm asking something stupid, but I have some way loong white cables, and would like to paint them black (I always stealth).
Is this totally safe?

One thing to note is if the cables have a teflon jacket (like the AudioMagic Hyperconductors), nothing is likely to stick/stay on.  A more involved, but longer lasting, solution would be to remove one of the XLR ends from each cable, cover the cable in black techflex, and then re-solder the XLR connector back on.  A bit of effort involved, but you'll have a very nice set of cables when you're done.

An Oil/solvent based paint will more than likely be way to brittle once cured . It will flake like theres no tomorrow
If you gonna try anything I would suggest trying the Krylon Fusion

or better yet the Acrylic/latex spray that krylon just came out with may be your best bet as being an acrylic will be very flexible..
