Not sure whether I should put this here or in Media Trading. I use EZ CD Creator. Been working like a champ until a couple days ago. It used to always keep the buffer at 100%. Now it almost immediately drops to 1% and stays there until its done. Anybody ever run into this problem? Reinstall?

save yourself a lot of hassle and start using nero... does everything ezcd does and more. just remember- when burning audio you need to reset from 2 second gaps down to zero for DAO.
-
Thats what I've been using tonite. Very impressed. I am changing all the tracks to 0 except for the 1st. That is correct, right?

Nero is fine, but now that I've discovered Feurio I'll only go back in some catastrophe!

Yep. And Easy CD Creator is a piece of shit.

I have been using EZ since like ver 4 & never had a problem, to each his own I suppose ::)

New versions of EZCD keep a database file about what you've ripped (if you use it for that) there are also a few other anti copying things in place. I won't use it for that reason alone. I use Nero I liked Feurio for audio burns but when I got my new PC a year ago the cdrw drive was not supported. I'm sure it is now but Nero worked fine so I've stuck with it. I used to run feurio for audio discs and nero for data. Now it's just Nero

I just use it for burning & EAC for extraction ...
-
I agree, EAC should DEFINITELY be used for extraction.... its the only one that does an adequate job.
I generally use it for burning as well, but as of the last version 0.9pb4 Andre had not added support for many of the new generation CD-R/DVD (LG in my Dell :() combo drives in laptops, so burning is not an option there yet. It does work for extracting though.
He has just released a new 0.95 beta though, which I have not tried yet.
I used to use EZCDC, and produced a disturbing amount of coasters. After switching to EAC on my desktop machines, that business virtually dissapeared. Can't wait until I can get it going for burning on my laptop, now that I'm doing the 24/96 thing. Transferring all of those large files to the desktops is becoming a hassel!!

I've just found that you can't really do jack with Easy CD Creator. Nero and especially Feurio actually give lots of options and have navigable user interfaces and don't make everything simple, thereby trapping the user... needless to say, Easy CD Creator pissed me off in the day. ;) But definitely, to each his own.
And yes, only EAC in Secure for extraction.
-
I also only use EAC for extractiosn when I need to all set up right. I was simply saying that EZCD has spyware that it tracking you if you do use it to rip a show. I don't do any such thing, But that type of stuff bugs me. WHich is why I don't use it.

Grrrrrrr... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

It would bug me too.

I used EZCD for about 3-4 years with NO problems. Then, one day, same as you. Coasters all over the place. I tried reinstalling, no dice. I bought a new burner, and happened to try Nero. Whaddya know, Nero rocks, and my old burner works again. ::)
I'm sticking with Nero, I think. I like it MUCH better for DVD burning (than the crap that came with my HP) so if you ever buy a DVD burner it's great for that, too.
-
Roxio is so far up the RIAA's ASS it's not even funny. It's why I won't use any roxio products. Anyone hear of the nero6.0 yet I had heard it was supposed to have dvd-a capabilities. That will be key with me starting to work with 24/48 & 24/96 files.
-
I'm not sure what version I just d/led the trial for, but it has the DVD-A portion greyed out. Which makes me think it's on it's way.
One big bummer, though, just as with DVD-V discs, you'll need an authoring program to author DVD-A discs before Nero can burn them (unless Nero comes out with an authoring package).

its all about the damn money...buy this, buy that, blah, blah.... >:( but its worth it in the long run.... ;D
