so you can burn copies? they just dont work in your player ???
i am gonna buy a nice dvd player that plays DVD-Audio, it the dvd player can play dvd-a, then it can handle anything
my dvd player plays some things and not others, and i use verbatim DVD-R exclusively, its weird, im guessing its a dvd player thing cause if its plays on the computer, then its gotta be a player thing
most puter dvd players can handle anything as well
it shell out the 160 like im gonna eventually do and never have to worry about it again ;)
expensive, but if it plays everything i can throw at it, then its worth it IMO :)

If you have powerdvd, open up the dvd in there, right click in the video window, select configuration, and then click the information tab
should tell you the region and everything in there

there is a TON of stuff you have to do to change PAL >NTSC

i'll just have to watch it on the puter
thanx again for the info tho...and more +T's in 12

all that software can be had for free
14 day trial of tmpgenc dvd author: http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/tda20.html#trial
14 day trial of tmpgenc 2.5 - http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/tp.html
DGPulldown is free software - http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=DGPulldown
as well as DGMPGDec - http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=DGMPGDec
I know it looks like a lot, but stuff like this usually isn't too bad. Keep in mind that converting video takes awhile, so leave the converting until before you go to bed or something, so it'll be done in the morning
-

there is also another that I use called IFOedit - can't remeber where I got it but I could send it to you...
Free, and very easy to use. Rip the DVD to the pc, use the IFOedit to open then.ifo files, click on each spot where it says PAL and change to NTSC. Save and say yes to modify the .bup file. Do this to all of the .ifo files and burn in nero. Good to go! I'll look for the link....

keep in mind taht this will NOT always work
Ive tried it several times, and it's never worked. I think it depends on your DVD player?
-
I have heard that it does not always work, but I have had a 100% success rate so far. I am using a Sony DVP-NS700P player for DVD-V. It is about five years old. So far so good....
edit: you are right - it does depend on your player...
-
or spend $35-$60 on a cheap player that will play PAL.
-
or just hook up your PC to your tv and speakers, and watch iut off that
